12 декабря 2014

Tiger Woods has been reported to have made his return with the clubs in Dubai of late and is in the news recently for the new project in which he is said to design a new 18-hole golf course.

It has been 3 years since the plans for the special golf course in Dubai has been started and the champion was reported to design the 18-hole Golf course. Developer DAMAC properties has taken over the task of building this unique Golf course and The Trump Organisation is in charge of managing and operating it. Back in 2007, Woods’ design firm had stated that in a joint venture with Tatweer, the Tiger Woods Dubai Golf Course and Resort would be built in Dubailand itself.

However, the plan had to be stopped due to the global economic crisis although the construction started on opening the holes. Recently, the plans in a huge turnaround have revealed that the golf course, reported to be built at DAMAC’s AKOYA Oxygen Community, will have only the venue or the land in common with the previous project. The present project will have a completely new design as has been found from trusted sources. The present project, named The Trump World Golf Club Dubai, is being built in the centre of the 55 million sq ft of AKOYA Oxygen community is reported to include a club house, a fine multi-cuisine restaurant and a pro-shop. With respect t

o style and design of the golf course, Woods opined that playing in some of the great golf courses across the globe has been a fortune to him. Playing in the original Link courses in Scotland, to the parkland courses of U.S.A as well as on the distinctive layouts as one finds in the sandbelt of Australia has helped him in framing the design for this project. Woods, the winner of 14 Majors is optimistic with the design, is hopeful of adopting the distinctive elements of the diverse courses to the present golf course in Dubai. He has opined that this inclusion will result in the creation of such a golf course that the players of this sport would love to play number of times. He is impatient waiting for the project to be completed.

The Managing Director of DAMAC properties Ziad El Chaar is highly elated to have been successful in getting the golf legend on board for this project. The golfing star has designed projects in Mexico and U.S.A. El Chaar is of the opinion, that getting a Golf icon like Woods in the project has helped Dubai to maintain the tradition of doing something entirely new. With a phenomenal track record, Woods is the ideal one to gift Dubai such a unique golf co

urse. El Chaar is also very positive with respect to the involvement of Donald Trump, the Chairman and President of The Trump Organisation. The Golf course is going to be the second course in Dubai by DAMAC Properties and the 18th Golf course in the world of the Trump Organisation. DAMAC has not yet revealed the overall cost as of recently but the work of preparing the site has already started. Sources have reported that with all going fine the course may be opened by December 2017.
